Woodstok is a Resto-Cafe located just off the Domlur-Koramangala ring road flyover. This is one of the restaurants in the chain which also has Peacock & Cremé & Crust in its fold.

To be honest, I never thought I’d land up here but I’d won a dinner voucher from Burrp! in a contest and thus ended up in this place 😉

The ambience is quite warm and inviting and there are big posters of rock legends on the walls. There are several nooks and crannies with tables as the restaurant is set in an old but massive 2-storey house. This ensures good privacy for larger groups as well as couples. Television sets across the place were playing old rock numbers (and sometimes at a deafening level!!!). Note to Woodstok – this might be a turn-off for those looking forward to a quiet lunch/dinner, pub atmosphere notwithstanding.

Since we were ravenously hungry by the time we reached, we skipped the starters and headed straight for the main course. I selected the ‘Cottage Hawaii Sizzler’ & hubby chose the ‘Grilled Chicken Sizzler’. We also ordered drinks on the side (beer to be precise!).

Cottage Hawaii Sizzler

The ‘Cottage Hawaii Sizzler’ had my mouth open when it arrived. There were 2 big and I mean BIG pieces of cottage cheese patties with corn stuffed inside and a white deliciously creamy sauce on top. To see the size, just see the picture above. You’ll believe me 🙂

It was accompanied by some sauteed veggies and herbed rice. The quantity was massive and I had to struggle to finish the last bite as it was AMAZING! I would highly recommended this to all the cottage cheese lovers out there. Must go there for seconds!!!

Grilled Chicken Sizzler

Grilled Chicken Sizzler

The ‘Grilled Chicken Sizzler’ had 2 chicken breasts stuffed with mushroom and served with mashed potatoes, broccoli in a tangy sauce. The taste was quite good according to hubby and the quantity was perfect for one person.

The service is quite efficient but not prompt. Since it was a Friday evening, most of the tables were full and the handful of servers were running around so we had to wait for sometime to place our order. The meal costed close to 1500 (Rs.) with all the taxes thrown in. Of course since I had a 500 buck voucher, it helped with the cost!

The following note has nothing to do with the food but as a patron there, I had to pen it down. An all men group in the corner of the restaurant were talking/laughing quite loudly with expletives (the beer effect!) and several people were turning in their direction with disgusted looks. My suggestion to the management is – please do ensure that customers who want a comfortable and peaceful time to eat their food get that. After all, it’s not a 100% pub.
