Prawn Pickle Recipe


Prawns. My favorite food in the whole wide world! This absolutely yummy pickle is easy to make & easier to eat 🙂

Recipe (Non-Veg): Prawn Pickle

Ingredients:

Tiger Prawns (Kolambi) – Quarter Kg/10-20 pieces
Turmeric powder (Haldi) – 1 teaspoon
Pickle masala powder – 2 teaspoons
Chili powder (Lal mirchi)- 1/2 teaspoon
Any oil – 2 tablespoons
Salt – As per taste (I added around 1 teaspoon)
Lemon  – 1

Method:

  1. Wash, clean & shell the tiger prawns. Take care to remove the black veins from the prawns(this is the cause for severe stomach upset most of the times)
  2. In a non-stick kadhai, add the oil. When it heats up, put the prawns and fry for couple of minutes on both sides till done.
  3. Add pickle masala, chili powder & salt in a stainless steel tin, mix well with some oil (preferably stainless steel, as it does not stain with the pickle).
  4. Transfer the fried prawns to this tin & mix well with the spices. Keep aside till it cools down.
  5. Sprinkle lemon juice on this pickle and mix well.

Serve with rice, paratha, or roti.

Note: To retain the freshness, keep the pickle in the fridge. Lasts longer!
