Potato Pickle Curry Recipe


Everyone loves potatoes. Except the ones who are on strict diets 😉 This is one of the easiest recipes for potato curry, try it!

Ingredients:

Potatoes (Batata) – 2-3 medium size
Mustard seeds (Mohari) – 1 teaspoon
Any oil – 1 tablespoon
Turmeric powder (Haldi) – 1 small pinch
Chili Powder (Lal mirchi) – 1 teaspoon
Pickle Powder (Lonche masala) – 1 teaspoon
Asafoetida (Hing) – 1 small pinch
Salt – As per taste (I added around 1 teaspoon)
Lemon – 1 small size

Method:

  1. Peel & cut the potatoes into squarish bite-size pieces.
  2. In a non-stick kadhai, add the oil. When it heats up, put the asafoetida & mustard seeds. Mix well taking care that it does not burn.
  3. Add the salt, turmeric, chili & pickle powder into the oil. Immediately add a cup of water to this mixture.
  4. Add the potatoes and cover till it cooks. Keep mixing after few minutes so that it does not burn.
  5. Once it is ready to serve, add squeezed lemon juice to this curry (gives a very zingy taste).

Serve with Indian Bread (Roti/Naan).
